Become a Steward
Stewardship is how we come together to support the life, ministries and future of St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church. It is a prayerful commitment to offer our time, talents and treasures in gratitude for the many blessings God has entrusted to us.
Through stewardship, we help our parish proclaim the Orthodox Christian faith, serve those in need and keep Christ at the center of our homes, families and community.
Everyone has something meaningful to offer. Whether you volunteer your time, share your talents, make a financial contribution or participate in the ministries of the Church, your involvement strengthens our entire parish family.
What Is Stewardship?
A steward prayerfully offers:
- Time by participating in worship, parish life, service and ministry
- Talent by sharing personal skills, knowledge and abilities
- Treasure by financially supporting the Church and its mission
- Stewardship is a personal commitment between each individual or family and God. Every offering, regardless of its size, is valuable and helps continue the work of Christ through His Church.
How Stewardship Supports Our Church
Financial resources are a necessary tool for ministry. Every act of giving helps St. Nectarios provide worship, pastoral care, education, fellowship and service throughout the year.
Your stewardship commitment helps our parish:
- Provide regular worship services and Holy Sacraments
- Offer pastoral guidance, counseling and spiritual support
- Visit parishioners who are hospitalized, homebound or in need
- Assist individuals and families experiencing hardship
- Serve the community beyond the walls of our church
- Support our clergy, staff and ministry leaders
- Develop spiritual, educational, youth and fellowship ministries
- Maintain and improve our church buildings and property
- Support the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago
- Share the Orthodox Christian faith with future generations
Your generosity makes these ministries possible.
Give Your Time and Talents
There are many ways to participate in the life of St. Nectarios beyond financial giving.
Throughout the year, volunteers are needed to assist with ministries, events, educational programs, community outreach, administrative projects and parish activities. You may have professional knowledge, creative abilities, organizational skills or simply a willingness to help.
Every contribution matters.

Piece by Piece: Stewarding God’s Gifts Together
Christ’s Gospel and teachings are like pieces of a puzzle. Each one reveals an important part of God’s greater plan for humanity. Individually, they offer wisdom and guidance. Together, they form a complete picture of salvation, love and truth.
As stewards of God’s gifts, we are called to bring these teachings to life through the offering of our time, talents and treasures.
Each contribution may seem small on its own, but when joined with the contributions of others, it becomes part of something much greater.
The image of Saint Nectarios in our stewardship campaign is intentionally incomplete. Each member of our parish represents one piece of the image, connected to every other member of our community.
When we participate and work together, the full picture of our parish comes to life. Without each piece, our ministries cannot reach their full potential.
Together, piece by piece, we continue the work and mission of St. Nectarios.
