COME, LET US WORSHIP
Worship at St. Nectarios
Orthodox worship unites Scripture, prayer, hymns, icons, incense and the Sacraments in a living encounter with Christ.

The Divine Liturgy
The Divine Liturgy is the central worship service of the Orthodox Church. The faithful gather to hear the Word of God, offer thanksgiving and participate in the Holy Eucharist.
Sunday worship is often preceded by Orthros, or Matins, a service of psalms, hymns and Gospel readings. Vespers and other services prepare the Church for feasts and holy seasons.
Check the Current Schedule
Service times change for feasts, fasting seasons and special observances. Use the parish calendar for the most current schedule.
What You Will Experience
Orthodox worship engages the whole person.
Scripture
Psalms, Epistles, Gospels and prayers fill the services with the Word of God.
Hymns and Chant
The congregation and chanters proclaim theology through ancient and contemporary liturgical music.
Icons
Sacred images bear witness to Christ, the Theotokos and the Saints and remind us of the communion of the Church.
Incense and Light
Incense and candles express prayer, reverence and the light of Christ.
Movement and Procession
Standing, crossing, bowing and processions involve the body in prayer.
Holy Communion
The Eucharist is the center of Orthodox sacramental life and the fullest expression of unity in Christ.
Need Help Following Along?
Ask a greeter for a service book or assistance. Visitors may participate quietly or simply observe.
Visitors and Holy Communion
Everyone is welcome to attend Orthodox worship. Holy Communion is received by baptized, chrismated and practicing Orthodox Christians who are properly prepared and in communion with the Church.
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, everyone is welcome to receive antidoron, the blessed bread offered by the priest.
